What you'll be doing Execution of work: Executes allocate d and self-identified work in a timely and quality manner. Where possible, self- pins jobs from the systems using own expertise and the available decision framew ork to ensure higher priority work is delivered first. Covers dual or more funct ions requiring the application of different skills. Responsible for entering acc urate codes and quality notes on appropriate systems (e.g. Eng.com, inventory sy stems), that are meaningful and which can be used onward by colleagues and custo mers. Standard of work & equipment: Works on BT equipment in accordance with doc umented procedures and practices as provided by BT and its suppliers; agree any changes if required with line manager or process owner. Accountable for the in stallation, maintenance and security of equipment whilst in attendance at a BT b uilding or location where BT equipment is provided; this includes looking after tools, testers and vehicles. Exchange ownership: Understands performance of the assigned exchanges as per performance dashboard. Actively contributes to improvi ng overall performance & reliability by engaging with patch manager and team col leagues and by agreeing appropriate actions and by proactively taking ownership of actions to resolve issues through to resolution. Also responsible for the imp lementation of assigned projects or work packages. Continuous improvement: Conti nually and consistently explores and provides quality and cost-effective solutio ns for our customers. Participates in team performance huddles. Demonstrates per sonal contribution to driving improvements which speed up and simplify how the t eam works, by engaging with the team to generate ideas, taking ownership of impr ovements and demonstrating actions taken to progress these improvements to compl etion. Communicates any problems e.g. operational, safety, security and provides constructive suggestions for resolution and/or improvement. Analyses and develo ps solutions considering several aspects; acts as a consultant when appropriate. Makes sure any RCA requirement is completed. Team work: Able & willing to assis t others and acts as a second line support. Takes on coaching role towards colle agues and new joiners especially regarding his/her primary skills. Ensures e ffective two way communication by attending regular team and 1-1 meetings. Commu nicates any operational or personal issues, including unscheduled absence from d uty e.g. sick absences & accidents to line manager or appropriate authority with in BT. Health & Safety: Delivers work with full regard of H&S aspects. Carries o ut on-site risk assessments giving careful consideration to any hazards before s tarting work, and as the work progresses. Is comfortable asking others to displa y their ID passes when on BT premises. Communication skills: Deals with complex queries & provides information/answers verbally and in writing, in a straightfo rward & constructive manner. Addresses internal and external customer complaints using appropriate procedures. ICT literacy: Confident user of MS Office suite, especially MS Word, Excel and Outlook (e-mail). We'll also need to see these on your CV Electrical competency City & Guilds 2360 parts 1 2 or equivalent NVQ F- GAS category 1 IT literacy good working knowledge of emails, Excel, Word Demonst rable experience of working on mechanical & electrical systems Experience of wor king with -48volt DC power systems C&G 2382 BS7671 17th Edition up to and inclu ding AMD3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations. Relevant technical qualification (must relate to electrical engineering). Country specif ic training courses (relating to country rules / regulations as to wiring standa rds, installation practice, testing regimes etc. Relevant knowledge of country s pecific regulations or rules related to electrical installations (such a qualifi cation must be formally assessed, simply issuing a document will not be deemed s uitable).
